Biolab goes into administration

09/08/2022 //  by Michelle Berridale Johnson//  4 Comments

I was horrified the other day to go to the Biolab site in search of some information about a past conference to be met with the following announcement:

14th July 2022

Biolab Limited has gone into administration due to the delay by The Care Quality Commission in processing our application to transfer our business activities to our laboratory site in West London following an earlier temporary suspension.

We always remained highly confident that Biolab would reopen and invested heavily in relocating the business, retaining and retraining our employees, developing new and improved methods of work and updating our documentation, so this comes as a huge disappointment for us all, but as you’ll appreciate no business can continue indefinitely without an income.

We are no longer able to process any samples for testing.

Biolab is very proud of the help we have given to hundreds of thousands of patients over 37 years, and we thank everyone for their phenomenal support and loyalty over the years, and for the hundreds of messages of support we have received in recent months.

We wish you all the very best for the future.

As anyone who has had any dealings with nutritional or environmental medicine will know they were the go to lab for nutritional biochemistry testing. They had also pioneered many new tests and new treatments from which those suffering from obscure and longterm health issues had benefitted.

And, over the last few years they had hosted some excellent conferences and seminars – such as the Long Covid conference masterminded by Dr Rachel Nicholl a few months ago and the Mitchondria Day, also organised by Dr Nicholl that I reported on last autumn.

I had held off reporting this sad news in the hopes that I might hear something about a rescue plan but as yet, nothing has emerged for the laboratory at least. Fortunately the Alliance for Natural Health has stepped in and engaged Dr Nicholl to help deliver their education programme, which will include more events so at least the conference future is relatively secure.

I will report further if and when I hear anything.

We are working closely with the regulators to ensure that our solutions meet and surpass their expectations.

    More to follow soon….

A food fad won’t kill you – an allergy will

There has been a predictable outcry in the allergy world this week’s in response to Rachel Johnson’s piece in Thursday’s Evening Standard on ‘dietary requirements’ and food fads. Being charitable, I am assuming that she has never suffered from or lived with someone with a food allergy. However, I do have some sympathy with her …

Bioplastics – a solution or part of the problem?

Everyday Plastic is a social enterprise group using accessible learning and publicity campaigns to reduce the amount of plastics used daily in our society. It was founded by its current director Daniel Webb who, having moved to Margate in Kent in 2016, was horrified to discover that there were no plastic recycling options on offer.  …

Do not extradite Julian Assange to the US

Julian Assange is being sought by the current US administration for publishing US government documents which exposed war crimes and human rights abuses. The politically motivated charges represent an unprecedented attack on press freedom and the public’s right to know – seeking to criminalise basic journalistic activity. Assange is facing a 175-year sentence for publishing …

What to believe – applying critical thought

For the average citizen evaluating the claims made for cure all – or even improve all – health products and procedures has always been difficult. Not only is it an area in which we have minimal expertise but most of us have a vested interest in finding a miracle intervention that will solve our health …

Could wireless monitoring devices be killing racehorses?

Regular readers may remember that back in August last year I alerted you to a posting on Arthur Firstenberg’s Cellphone Task Force site about phone masts and bird flu. Could there be a connection between the fact that the two wildlife sites in Holland and Northern France which had suffered catastrophic bird flu deaths were …
