I have just spent a week at the Swiss BioHealth clinic on the shores of the Bodensee having ceramic dental implants fitted. But, it turned out, the Biohealth concepts and procedures developed at the clinic encompass much, much more than just few ‘new’ teeth. Through the medium of dental regeneration they are addressing intractable and debilitating conditions which range from ‘arthitic’ joints to Lyme disease.
Let me explain….
So what’s the big deal about the teeth?…..
Maybe understandably teeth are often seen something rather extraneous to the body: white and hard, with their own group of doctors to look after them. But this is far from the case.
From the root of every tooth runs a nerve and a tiny blood vessel both of which connect directly into the main nerve system and blood flow of the body. So far from your teeth being disconnected from your body they are in 24/7 communion with your whole system. Which means that anything that is amiss with a tooth can affect any other part of your body from your stomach to your big toe.
Why does this matter?
It matters because teeth that are in poor condition are ideal refuges for bacteria, pathogens and parasites that can ‘settle in comfortably’ and use each tooth’s direct blood vessel connection to spread themselves around your body whenever they choose.
In healthy teeth the bone binds tightly to the roots of the tooth and the gum to the ‘body’ of the tooth. There are no gaps. But all too often (usually as result of poor diet and/or poor dental care) the gums pull way from the teeth allowing space for food and bacteria to lodge there. They may in due course reach down to the root spreading bacteria around the root. This can cause bone to dissolve creating spaces in which other bacteria (toxins, parasites or viruses), travelling up through the blood supply to the tooth, will lodge. From there they can easily work their way back through your system via the tooth’s blood vessel.
Healthy immune systems will often parcel these bacteria up into little cysts at least preventing them spreading back through the body, but the cysts themselves take up space which should be filled with bone. So gradually you lose bone around the root of the tooth, the tooth gets loose as it is no longer being held in place by the bone. Maybe the nerve connection is damaged or becomes infected and the tooth dies.
Root canal treatment
In conventional dentistry you will then be offered a root canal filling. This involves cleaning out the hollow centre of the dead tooth and packing it, usually with a rubber like material called gutta percha that comes from the sap of Malaysian trees. This is sealed in place with an adhesive cement.
But root canal treatment is controversial:
- If the centre of the tooth is not properly cleaned bacteria can remain and cause further infection
- The procedure involves introducing extra foreign materials (the gutta percha and cement) into the mouth.
- You are leaving a dead tooth in the mouth.
Implants
Maybe the damage is so great that the tooth is no longer viable even with a root canal filling. In which case, in today’s dentistry, you may well be offered an implant. This is, effectively a new tooth which is screwed permanently into the bone from which the old tooth has been removed. This is a vast improvement on the dentures which were all that were previously on offer, as a successful implant is effectively just a new tooth replacing the old one.
The problem with conventional implants
There is only one problem, although this is a problem currently only recognised by a small band of specialists headed up by the Swiss Bio Health clinic. The implants are made from titanium. Titanium is already widely used in medicine and had been thought to be both inert and non-allergenic. But while even this is now being questioned (see here for more) the main issue is that titanium is a metal – and, say the bio-health dentists, metal has no place in our bodies.
But bio-health dentistry has very much wider implications for human health than just replacing implants. So let us take a few steps backwards.
The immune system and its enemies….
The human immune system is the body’s main defence against attack by toxins, ‘bad’ bacteria, viruses, parasites. A healthy, vigorous immune system will scavenge 24 hours a day and will be able to deal with all but the most virulent attacks. But a healthy immune system needs to be kept healthy by being fed good ‘food’ in terms of mineral, vitamin etc nutrients and being allowed to lead a moderately ‘healthy’ life – no excessive exposure to environmental toxins (such as heavy metals) or self imposed pollution (alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes – toxins in themselves) plus plenty of rest, sleep, exercise, relaxation etc.
Metal in the mouth
There are very few people now who do not accept that mercury/amalgam filings are seriously detrimental to health, giving off low levels of mercury vapour during chewing. But amalgam is not the only metal used in the mouth.
Many experts will quote voluminous research to suggest that metal in the body has no effect on human health – but significant amounts of alternative research suggest that this is not the case. (For a detailed investigation into the toxic effect of metal in the body see this presentation by Rachel Nicholls on the FoodsMatter site.)
This research suggests that metal deposits in the body can affect the functioning of the immune system by depressing it, so that it does not work as efficiently as it should – or by over stimulating it so that it attempts to destroy either harmless ingested proteins (such as peanut) or the body’s own systems as in autoimmune conditions such as coeliac disease, diabetes, RA, MS etc.
If you accept this research then, as long as metal remains in the mouth, it will be impossible to achieve a truly healthy immune system.
But, even if we have a healthy immune system….
Even a healthy immune system can only scavenge toxins if it can find them. So it is in the toxins’ interests to search out places in the body where they will not be found. And the spaces created by decaying bone around damaged or infected teeth are ideal hiding places. An even better a hiding place is provided by the layer of fat that settles where wisdom teeth have been removed in most people.
Explain please! Wisdom teeth?
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to ‘come through’ – usually between the ages of 17 and 25 although sometimes much later. While some people’s mouths are big enough to fit them, many people’s are not. If this is the case the wisdom teeth will sometimes just stop growing and decay, or grow crooked or force other teeth out of position causing pain and further damage.
In this case it is better to remove the wisdom teeth to allow the other teeth space. Ideally, when they are removed new healthy bone will grow in to fill the space where the tooth has been extracted and strong gum will seal off the site. But…..
The age at which most wisdom teeth are removed (late teens and early 20s) is the time when nutrient levels (needed for the growth of healthy bone) are at their lowest – partly because they have been depleted by the very business of growing and partly because late teenage/early 20s diets tend to be nutrient poor. As a result the bone which should grow to fill the space left by the extracted wisdom tooth does not grow as it should and a layer of fat moves in instead.
So, back to the toxins… And think here also of bacteria such as the borrelia burgdorferi bacteria in Lyme disease which is affecting so many people so disastrously especially in the U.S.
There is nothing that a virus, bacteria, parasite or toxin likes better than a layer of fat hide in – even better than a gap around a tooth. So those wisdom teeth sites provide perfect concealment where they can remain safe from the scavenging cytokines of the immune system and free to send their own messengers into the blood stream and out around your body whenever they want.
(Cleaning out the wisdom teeth sites, what they call the cavitations, is regarded as a crucial part of any treatment at the Swiss BioHealth Clinic. It has resulted in significant diminution if not total disappearance of the symptoms of Lyme Disease and other similarly intractable and untreatable parasitic/virus/bacteria generated conditions in a very high proportion of their patients.)
Right…. Back to the Biohealth approach
In bio health the immune system is king. If it is in seriously good shape then it will be able to deal with all but the most catastrophic external toxic attacks – a Bhopal disaster for example. The issue is how to get it into a state of bounding good health – and then how to keep it there.
Feeding it good nutrients is of course vital. But that may not be enough if that body is also ‘housing’ a number of pathogens, viruses or toxins. Tucked away in safe corners such as ex wisdom teeth sites or decayed teeth these toxins will be constantly impeding its work. Therefore, to allow the immune system to regain maximum health and productivity, those sites need to be cleaned out and encouraged to infill with healthy bone which will not allow spaces to reform to accommodate those pathogens.
For more details of the protocols used at the Swiss Bio Health Clinic see the FoodsMatter site here – or for full details see their site. But for now – the principle.
- You effectively force feed the immune system healthy nutrition for a period of weeks or months to get it to its maximum efficiency – then…..
- You meticulously clean out the areas where pathogens may lurk ensuring that that absolutely nothing is left behind.
- You then pack these areas with bone from the patients own body and/or membranes made from their blood and sew them up tightly.
- Or, in the case where the tooth has died, you remove it, perform the same meticulous cleaning and then fill the space with zirconium oxide ceramic implants made from zirconium dioxide.
(Zirconium dioxide is a ‘highly biocompatible and bio inert material that forms a functional connection with living bone – osseointegration.’)
The bone will then actually grow around and incorporate the implant. This does not happen with titanium implants which set up a state of constant low level inflammation so no bonding occurs. - While you are doing this you support the immune system and the body’s natural healing processes in every way that you can – high dose vitamin and mineral infusions, homeopathic remedies, cranial and lymphatic massage, magnetic resonance therapy, and total rest for at least five days after the treatment.
The result….
So, you have removed the pathogens and filled the sites where they had hidden with potentially healthy bone and gum. All that is needed now is to ensure that the patient’s levels of the nutrients needed to grow that bone (especially Vitamin D3) remains high enough to allow complete reintegration and healing to take place.
Meanwhile, the body systems are now not only being protected by a strong immune system but they are no longer under constant attack by the pathogens which lurked in the gaps and crevices of an unhealthy mouth. They are therefore free to deal with any other health issues that might have arisen very much more efficiently – and that does appear to be what they then do.
In my case I had no particular issues other than wanting titanium free implants. (I had unwisely allowed myself to be talked into a titanium implant even though I knew there was a risk that it could act as a electromagnetic radiation conductor and re-ignite my electrosensitivity – which indeed it did.)
However many of the clinic’s patients come with other serious health issues – including Lyme disease which all too often, especially in the U.S., remains resistant to all attempts to eliminate it.
Dr Voltz (seen here at work), founder and director of the clinic for the last 30 years, told me that although Lyme disease is the most dramatic condition that the bio health protocol appears to address, virtually all of their patients report improvements in other often very long standing health conditions within weeks of undergoing treatment.
For more details of the actual treatment – see the FoodsMatter site here – or go to their site.
As for me? I got the works!!! Final tally was, I think, five extractions, seven implants, four cavitations (or wisdom teeth clean outs), a sinus lift, replacement of three metal crowns and (although I had sort of lost track by then) a few fillings! I was obviously in sore need….. And that is far from the end! I am back in February, again in May, and then again in September, I think, to complete the work! Just as well that Konstanz is a nice town!

Really looking forward to hearing how this works out in the long term, it sounds very positive indeed. If the worst you can say about the experience is that the chair was uncomfortable that’s quite something. Glad it went well.
Anna Locatelli
The treatment sounds absolutely amazing – and how very interesting about the connection between teeth that need salvaging and Lyme Disease! Just goes to show how everything is linked in the body and that every tooth represents a meridian.
Even though you already seem to be a very strong and healthy person in every way, you will no doubt go from strength to strength after such a cleansing experience! Would love to follow suit, but alas I probably need to win the lottery first!
Well done!
Anna
Michelle
Thanks, Christina…. Will keep you all posted!
Micki Rose
Ooh this sounds just what I need to do! Thanks for sharing and inspiring me. Look forward to hearing how it all pans out. Heal well x
Denise Barrett
Hi Michelle, what an amazing amount of work done, and you sound so philosophical and calm! So glad the environs were sublime and therapeutic, as my goodness it sounds like it must have been like taking out a mortgage!
Carolyn
Hi Michelle
I wondered if you had any update on how this is going now? I would be really grateful to speak to you briefly if you didn’t mind as I am considering going down the same route but have a few hesitations. Might that be possible by any chance?
Best wishes, Carolyn
Michelle
Look forward to talking, Carolyn. I am back in Switzerland next week – all going well so far.
Alison
Hello, I’m also thinking about going there, may I ask how you are feeling now?
Michelle
Absolutely fine! In fact, I felt fine throughout as they are very insistent that you should remain in parasympathetic mode and therefore not feel pain. I have also noticed that a couple for totally unrelated health niggles seem to have resolved. My only issue really is the cost which, by the time you have finished the treatment, wonderful thought it is, can be considerable. But I have absolutely NO quibbles about Dr Voltz’s treatment and approach which are excellent.
Jose James
I think I just need a biohealth approach over my teeth problems. I have a lot of tooth decay issue facing right now and the best way to do is to remove them and do some dental implants. I don’t know how much I will be spending for such operations.
judyfulop
Hi could you share with me the cost per implant – and how much restoring each tooth (the actually tooth on top) cost you? Thanks. Judyfulop@gmail.com
Michelle
To be honest, Judy – it was such lot that I just closed my eyes and paid. But it is a lot wherever you have it done.
Michelle
I am sure the Biohealth approach would be right but be aware that it will cost you lot od money.
Patrick White
I am thinking of having a dental implant for my lost teeth. My dentist suggested this biohealth and I am not aware of it so I am doing some research. Now that I know how it is more effective and safer I will be agreeing with my dentist for my next check up.
Joe Bier
Hi Michelle — Thank you for providing keen insight through your detailed description of your experiences with Swiss Biohealth Clinic. I have recently visited a holistic/biological dentist group in Denver, CO. From 3D images, it has been determined that I have 2 infected root canal sites that need to be removed. Also, I have a titanium implant in another site. I am scheduled to begin removal/restoration on October 15, 2019 with the process taking 4-6 months to completion with permanent crowns. While the dental group here has been very helpful, they and another doctor told me about the Swiss clinic. I had contracted Epstein Barr/Mononucleosis/Cytomegalovirus in 1982 and since then have struggled with tinnitus, fatigue, mental fog/confusion, vision issues, osteopenia, Celiac disease/gluten intolerance, chills/sweats, etc. For decades I’ve chased/tried what seems like every potential remedy, to no avail. Surprisingly, even though I seem to have a compromised immune system, I don’t seem to get flu, colds, etc. I am trying to evaluate whether or not I should pursue treatment at the Swiss clinic. While, by all accounts, it sounds like it is very expensive, but the local treatment here is estimated to cost $15,000, so I’d like to at least explore that possibility. Are you able to report on your current health conditions and any additional experience with the clinic? If you prefer, I could provide my personal email address. Thanks for your consideration, Joe Bier
Stacey
Hi Michelle
I have just started to look at my mouth as cause of concern for my declining health. Swiss Biohealth sounds an amazing place. Was it very expensive?
Michelle Berridale Johnson
Well, it certainly wasn’t cheap – but then no major dental surgery is! The Swiss implants are probably slightly more expensive than implants in the UK (depending of where you have them done) but I feel that their whole approach and all th back up treatemnt that you got was worth the extra cost.
Shalvah
Michelle, thank you and I’m hoping for your feedback: Based on a CT of my mouth, a local dentist [in California] said I need 4 cavitation clean-outs [from wisdom teeth removed decades ago], 2 extractions/ implants, and a gold crown replacement. My body doesn’t travel well [pain with sitting] and my savings are limited, so I was planning to go with Dr Wall in Utah [an expert whose office said he collaborates with Swiss BioHealth.] My doctor said Swiss BioHealth might be less expensive, and their reputation is amazing. But my LDLs are super-high because I need to eat a keto diet [for hypoglycemia] and am a “hypo-responder” [= super-high LDLs.] Do you know how I might get a rough sense of Swiss BioHealth costs? [with Dr Wall, the cavitations + extractions/ implants total ~$14- $20k, depending on type of cavitation clean-out needed.] And are they likely to tell me I have to get my LDLs down first? [=unworkable blood sugar roller-coaster] Thank you!
Michelle Berridale Johnson
Hello Rabbi Miriam – I have replied to you directly by email.

Any tips for travel from the UK to Zurich and on by train? How about accommodation — AirBnB?
You should be aware of secret nanotech in dental anaesthetics which dentists don’t know about. Most, if not all, now contain nanotech, like the Covid vaccines. Requesting a non-time-released version may help.
I suffered idiopathic general malaise 2018-19, for about 12 months, following 3 zirconia implants in Spain. Tested non-allergic to the implants, so it was what they injected. Never took any plandemic shots but Dr Ana Maria Mihalcea warns of self-assembling nanotech shedding.

I both flew to Zurich and took the train onwards and travelled the whole way by train – both were pretty painless.
Thank you for the nanotechinformation.

Hi Michelle,
You were wise not to skimp on dental costs by going to wonderful Switzerland. I paid a little less than the UK for 3 x zirconium dioxide implants at an apparently-reputable and modern clinic: Crooke in Malagá (2018). One molar implant had insufficient length to take a crown, so had to be covered by a mini-cap in the UK. I never return to a quack, although consumer law requires giving the supplier a chance to correct their work, as a precondition to legal action; travel was also restricted owing to the scamdemic.
The Spanish anaesthetics were likely tainted with some of the early, self-assembling, nanobot batches, although Crooke were not to know that. My naturopathic UK dentist suggested the strain of ‘opening wide’ for an extended period may have caused my sympathetic (versus parasympathetic) nervous system to dominate, producing excessive cortisol. I doubt that, as I have undergone many dental procedures without such chronic and debilitating side effects.
6 days ago, I sent Swiss Biohealth an overview of my general dental condition and asked whether Dr Volz was aware of the nano in anaesthetics. I have not yet received a reply. Do they take a while to respond: very busy, with a waiting list?
I see AirBnB prices in Kreuzlingen are around £50 for a shared bathroom, or £100 en-suite. Similar to the UK.
Thanks for taking the time to post a webpage on Swiss Biohealth. Yours was the only review I could find. Doctors Volz and Klinghardt are on the right track in treating cavitations and using zirconia implants, but may not realise the extent of nanotech infiltration in injectables, chemtrails, food and water. Romanian-American Dr Ana Maria Mihalcea even reports detection of 500nm (1/2,000th of a millimetre) diameter nano swarms in north American deer, squirrels and beef cattle. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this is why our friends, relatives and neighbours are dying excessively.

Ooh – that was quite a journey… Be interested to know if you get a reply from Dr Voltz – and they do take a while. Thank you for posting.
Trevor Perry
Still no reply to my initial treatment request from Swiss Biohealth after 16 days. My previous enquiry in 2018 was returned in 3 days, so I might have been dumped into their ‘Zeitverschwender’ file! They likely get many enquirers who fail to follow through once they appreciate the cost. Could be short-staffed during the holiday season, or just suffering from the general, Covid-vaccine malaise that can be observed worldwide.
Further checks on local, injectable, dental anaesthetics showed:
Safe(r): Levobupivcaina (Kabi Labs); Ubestisin Forte (Articaine) (3M); Slow/Time-Released Types.
Lignocaine (Lidocaine, Xylocaine) or Citanest are probably the better options, or anaesthetic without epinephrine.
Unsafe: Septadont and Orabloc. Mepivacaine/Carbocaine/Articaine products.
Graphene oxide has been in the injectable dental anesthesias since 2017.
Evidence of complex chemistry in a local anaesthetic has been found in those manufactured by Pfizer in 2011.
Dr Ana Maria Mihalcea advises EDTA chelation after dental injections because all the anaesthetics she tested were tainted with nanotech.
Do you know whether Swiss Biohealth fits dentist-removable-only dentures, such as ‘All-on-6/8’, on zirconia implants? Such dentures are a common remedy when there are several missing teeth — but providers only seem to use titanium implants. Actor Dick Van Dyke, now 98, was badly affected by titanium; some individuals react to the additional elements:
1 Aluminium (Al): Added to Ti-6Al-4V, the most widely used titanium alloy for dental implants, to improve strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability.
2 Vanadium (V): Also present in Ti-6Al-4V, vanadium enhances the alloy’s strength, toughness, and resistance to fatigue and corrosion.
3 Nitrogen (N): May be added to titanium alloys to improve their mechanical properties, such as strength and ductility.
4 Carbon ©: Present in small amounts in some titanium alloys, carbon can improve their mechanical properties and biocompatibility.
5 Oxygen (O): Titanium alloys may contain oxygen, which can affect their mechanical properties and biocompatibility.
6 Iron (Fe): May be present in small amounts in titanium alloys, particularly those containing vanadium or chromium.
7 Nickel (Ni): Some titanium alloys may contain nickel, which can affect their biocompatibility and corrosion resistance.
8 Cobalt (Co): May be present in small amounts in titanium alloys, particularly those containing chromium or nickel.
9 Zirconium (Zr): Used in some titanium alloys, such as Ti-13Nb-13Zr, to improve their strength-to-weight ratio and biocompatibility.
10 Niobium (Nb): Added to some titanium alloys to improve their mechanical properties, such as strength and toughness.

I’m afraid I cannot tell you re Swiss Biolhealth and dentures but I would think it was unlikely.
And thank you for the titanium breakdwon.
Trevor Perry
Owing to their specialist reputation, Swiss Biohealth probably has a waiting list — so they can be picky about patients. Those who raise ‘complications’ — like the safety of dental anaesthetics, which they cannot guarantee, are not welcome.
Most commercial, full-arch dentures, which are attached to 4, 6 or 8 implants, use titanium roots. Zirconia implants may be incompatible with such multi-tooth dentures. Therefore, I may have to settle for individual implants with all my problem teeth, and bear the cost! However, full-arch dentures look fantastic, are fully-functional, and avoid the sensitivity and food-traps of individual teeth.
The main specialisations of Swiss Biohealth are …
1) Removal of root-canaled teeth.
2). Safe removal of mercury fillings.
3). Treatment of cavitations
4). Fitment of zirconia implants and ceramic crowns for individual, missing teeth.
5). Identification and linkage of bodily ailments with specific, faulty dentition.
They appear to have a policy of extracting all root-canaled teeth — even if stable and apparently trouble-free.
Michelle Berridale Johnson
That all sounds about right as far as my exerience of Swiss Biolhealth is concerned. They certainly do not like root canaled teeth, stable or otherwise.
Trevor Perry
If Dr Volz and his team continue to play Silly Swiss Burghers with prospective, new patients, there is an alternative in the USA. It will not be any cheaper but, typical of American style, they do have efficient customer service. Located an hour’s drive north-west of Austin, Texas. £600 direct return on BA. Can rent a car, taxi or take a bus from Austin to Marble Falls..

Dr Nunnally is well familiar with the globalists’ slow-death and dumbing-down squad, having personally suffered, like myself, the serious consequences of mercury-amalgam fillings. It is well understood that 50% of their elemental mercury leaches into the body’s tissues in the first 5 years. Like vaccines, they are a cruel modality which the medical mafia cannot admit-to, for fear of being sued into oblivion.
Healthy Smiles For Life’s website states: Biocompatible fillings, crowns, bridges, partials, and dentures are used to replace missing tooth structures. So they appear more flexible than Dr Volz with his zirconia-implant-fits-all approach.
My attitude to the Swiss has gravitated towards The Major’s on Germans …

Very nice website, Michelle; nicely laid-out, with top fonts!
After 29 days, Swiss Biohealth have still not replied to my initial enquiry. Anything with legal implications — like tainted anaesthetics — average dentists will not touch with a bargepole, even if I put 50,000 Volz up ’em! I WILL be asking Dr Nunnally, above, but he is a good guy who knows what is going on.
Top researcher, Dr Ana Maria Mihalcea (link above), accepts that ALL injected dental painkillers potentially contain nanotech and graphene, so advises patients to use intravenous EDTA and vitamin-C afterwards to chelate the self-assembling metal technology. Via dark-field microscopy at up to 4,000X, she has observed the half-micron (500 nanometre) nanobots which kill off red blood cells in rouleaux formation and self-assemble circuitry.
Chelate — earth yourself — avoid electric fields — avoid radio frequencies. Only use mobile phones when absolutely essential — otherwise switch them off ! Remove your smart meter. No radio watches or earbuds. Use wired Internet — Cat-8 insulated ethernet cables — not Wi-Fi. This is Dr Ardis’s metal-chelation protocol …
EDTA – 1ml twice daily
Apple Pectin – 1400mg daily
Melatonin – 3-5mg supplement at night
Zinc – 20-50mg with food twice daily
Vitamin C – 5000mg/day
NAC – 500mg twice daily
I am currently taking Dr Ardis’s microsomal EDTA at 5-10 ml per day, up from the 1 ml initially recommended, and can feel the benefits, such as more energy and lifting of brain fog. Still mopping up my mercury fillings, removed in 2000, and dental anaesthetics of 2018.

Incidentally, if one visits Dr Nunnally in Texas, it is not far to Premium Care Plastic Surgery in Cartagena, Colombia, where an American surgeon offers top work at good prices owing to the lower overheads there. Return flights via Austin and Panama City cost as little as £800. IV-EDTA clinic a few blocks away and an IOAMT dentist in Barranquilla, an hour’s drive, if necessary.

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for this brilliant post.
I have found a dentist in London who seems to be great. However, I would also like to explore the best option available which seems to be Volz.
Are you able to share the average cost of a root canal removal and implant please, via my email address?
Just to note that on their website It looks like they have a hotel now… Although I’m not so sure that they would host me, my partner and 20-month old!
Many thanks!

This ‘Natural Dentistry’ office (clinic) in Farmington, Connecticut (CT), 100 miles from (midway between) New York and Boston, is worth a look.
Dr Yuriy May offers a wide variety of zirconia-based implants and dentures, including an ‘All-on-6’ gingiva (false gum)-free option, if there is sufficient bone. It consists of conjoined teeth, usually 12 per upper and lower arch, which are screwed into implants. Partial dentures, of two or more teeth, may be appropriate.
The zirconia-implant abutments appear to be metal — for the screws — but they are covered by the false teeth, so should not contact bodily tissues, like a titanium implant would. See my post above for the 10 questionable elements they alloy with titanium for strength and corrosion resistance. Zirconia is simply ZrO2: the element zirconium (a ceramic-like ‘transition metal’) plus oxygen.
Gingiva-free dentures are said to be more comfortable than ‘teeth-on-the-gum’ dentures. Although our full complement of teeth is 16 upper and 16 lower, dentists claim a minimum of 12 upper and 12 lower are sufficient for eating — so most, full dentures contain that many.
Check airlines flying into New York or Boston airports for the best deals; car rental on arrival costs from £50 a day. American dentists don’t seem to supply emails these days and expect new patients to phone in.

This ‘Natural Dentistry’ centre in Farmington, Connecticut is well worth a look. They can only be emailed once established as a new patient, by telephone. Aer Lingus flies from London to their local airport Hartford CT (BDL), 21 miles away, via their US entry channel in Dublin (£682).
Dr Yuriy May works with Dr Volz and offers a wide variety of zirconia-based implants and dentures, including a more-comfortable ‘All-on-6’ gingiva (false gum) – free option, if there is sufficient bone. It consists of conjoined teeth, usually 12 per upper and lower arch, which are screwed into implants. However, partial dentures (of two or more teeth), or individual, crowned implants, may be appropriate. Very few dentists offer zirconia dentures on zirconia implants, like Dr May; titanium alloys are nearly always used for the implants.
Although our full complement of teeth is 16 upper and 16 lower, dentists claim a minimum of 12 upper and 12 lower are sufficient for eating — so most, full dentures contain that many — but can be customised according to the existing dental structure. The best dentures are computer-milled from a single piece of zirconia (ZrO2 zirconium dioxide). For a full-mouth set, one is looking at US$35,000+ total !
Dr May has a very comprehensive website, with better customer information and liaison than Dr Volz.
